We figured folks are tired of competing against each other, and wanted a game where everyone works together. And that’s where “Operation: Uncharted” comes in. What's "Operation: Uncharted" all about? Imagine this: you and your team are elite operatives, dispatched to a remote, uncharted island to recover a lost artifact before a rival organization gets their hands on it. Sounds exciting, right? That's the core of “Operation: Uncharted.” It's a cooperative game, meaning everyone plays on the same team. You win or lose together. No backstabbing, no gloating (hopefully!), just good old-fashioned teamwork. The game plays out on a modular board, meaning the island is different every time you play. We didn't want the same experience every time. You're uncovering tiles, exploring jungles, ancient ruins, and maybe even stumbling into a few surprises. There's a whole bunch of different tiles, so each game feels fresh and unpredictable. Think of it like building the island as you go. How Does it Work? Each player takes on the role of a unique operative, each with their own special skills and abilities. We’ve got the Navigator (good at charting the island), the Engineer (handy with gadgets and repairs), the Medic (keeps everyone patched up), and the Security Specialist (handles the… less friendly inhabitants). These aren’t just titles, though. Each operative has specific cards and abilities that really impact gameplay. On your turn, you’ll get a hand of cards. These cards let you move, explore, use your operative’s special skills, and interact with the island. You’ll be drawing exploration cards that throw challenges your way – maybe a sudden storm, a treacherous cliff, or a run-in with some local wildlife. It’s not always bad, though! You might discover hidden pathways or useful resources. The real kicker? A ticking clock. The rival organization is also searching for the artifact, and they’re gaining ground. A "Threat Track" represents their progress. Every turn, the threat level increases, making things more difficult. You need to work quickly and efficiently to complete your objectives before they do. We wanted to build in a sense of urgency without making it too stressful. It's challenging, but beatable! What Makes "Operation: Uncharted" Different? We’re really proud of a few things. First, the cooperative element. We believe games should be about bringing people together, not driving them apart. “Operation: Uncharted” encourages communication, strategy, and teamwork. You need to talk to each other, share information, and coordinate your actions to succeed. Second, the modular board and randomized elements. No two games are ever the same. This keeps things fresh and exciting, even after multiple playthroughs. We've included a ton of different tiles, cards, and challenges to keep you on your toes. We’re already working on expansions to add even more variety! Third, the accessible gameplay. We wanted a game that was easy to learn but still offered a satisfying level of strategic depth. The rules are straightforward, but there’s plenty of room for clever planning and tactical decision-making.
